The terms "limit order" and "market order" are more than a little bit dated. A limit order is just an order to buy or sell at a specific price or better. It's like going on e-bay and bidding at a specific price,

I'm not sure how big of a gamble that is. If he gets Starship into orbit he can start getting serious revenue from Starlink. Then he needs to transfer fuel in orbit to send cargo to the moon and mars. At that point he can send peopl

400 Starlink satellites per Starship launch costing $2M is $5,000 per satellite per launch. Basically nothing compared to the eventual mass-produced cost to make each satellite which might be $100,000. https://youtu.be/Exd1

As a counterpoint, I would suggest "Voodoo Fusion Energy" by Daniel Jassby, PPPL, from April 2019: https://www.aps.org/units/fps/newsletters/201904/voodoo.cfm But he does say: "This discus

The irony is that building 20 was torn down to put up that monstrosity. The day of my high school visit, the campus was plastered with posters for "The Asbestos Cork Award." http://www.catb.org/jargon/html

My biggest issue with it was that you are in the "too well-off to get aid but not well-off enough to pay cash" gap, then you should be expanding the number of schools you are applying too, not reducing. In-state and out-of-state

Do what you love, but first decide if what you love is writing code for others or for yourself. If you think it's the former, by all means stay in CS, your skills will always be needed. If it's the latter, then find a field that

I have a problem tying wealth to consumption. I always look at menu prices but I'm a lot better off financially than many people who don't seem to care how much they spend. Maybe because I do look at menu prices. Other than that

That accusation seems a little extreme. The 30 day claim was published in January 2012 in response to the Fukushima accident: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.13182/NT12-A13556 Also, in "NuScale Te

Agreed. I think one way of looking at it is that building factories does not scale in the same way as building plants. You can build a plant that produces 1GW base and it can start generating when you turn it on. An equivalent factory ma

No one is building new capacity (with current tech) because existing factories are operating at a loss. As for new tech, 1366 Technologies has built a factory in Malaysia and was expected to ramp up their kerf-less wafer production in Q3 20

Think of the term "Economies of Scale." In one sense, it means building a larger steel mill, oil refinery, aluminum smelter, etc. to lower production costs. Applied to nuclear reactors, you get large, one-of-a-kind designs, tha
