Very cool. One piece of feedback is that it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that "edit" was not selected. Since it's highlighted (in red), I tried to edit the circuit on the screen to no avail.

Personally, annoyances like this is enough for me not to want wireless headphones. My wired headphones work 100% of the time. It's obvious what they are connected to. (PS, I also prefer transport belts over robots in factorio, and expl

What I was imagining was the scene still being represented digitally with polygons, but the shader could still benefit from analog functions. Say, you could do functions like sine and logarithms faster/better/cheaper. So you'

Pure speculation ahead. It doesn't have to be better in an absolute sense, but being good enough for a cheaper price, lower power usage, smaller footprint, etc. I think a lot of floating point calculations could fall into this. For exa

In addition to what you're saying, it can also be _harder_ to watch something at 1x speed. I've found that at 1.25x-1.5x my mind is more engaged. If it's too slow, I start thinking about other things and end up getting less f

Neat. I've been thinking that such a product should exist. Are you sampling just a single point for temperature or do you get the maximum value of a bunch of IR-pixels? Also, with your first dollars earned, I would hire a photographer

The Opera browser did for a short while. If I recall correctly, it was taken out since sysadmins at schools, workplaces, etc would ban the browser. Of course that behavior unfortunately ensured that bittorrent would remain a protocol mostly

It's not entirely unlikely that I am remembering just the good stuff :) But I was surprised how many books would define even the most common notation, like ⊂, ∀, and ∃. I guess if you call your book "Introduction to..." you o

Another great hidden feature is the LISTEN/NOTIFY system. You can use it to watch for changes on a table, and then use that to e.g. update a view in the UI. For example create a table with a trigger on insert "NOTIFY new_data"

Unlike all the preview builds this actually crashed on `dotnet run` after upgrading. Luckily a `dotnet clean` fixes it. Good to finally have an official version!

The "optimized shadow" version has a lot of subtle banding artifacts, presumably because of the layers. If I squint, the optimized looks better, though.

There's a huge difference between solving an instance of a problem and understanding the problem. Enough commits of "this seems to fix the problem" and the codebase becomes really hard to work with.

That could also be solved by licensing. Stack overflow, for example, uses CC BY-SA 4.0 for all posts, and provides data dumps for anyone who might want them.

My next project will use Nomad over Kubernetes, and the reason is that I want to keep complexity down. I haven't used rancher, but another layer won't remove complexity, just hide it (until the abstraction leaks).
