Pictures showed tire & wheel, not just 'tire'

People keep saying tire, but the whole wheel came off. Still likely maintenance/inspection related.

What are the orbital parameters before and after the moon close approach?

Things that are maneuverable are usually sent to the spacecraft cemetery: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacecraft_cemetery

It's basically free to let the orbit decay. It is hundreds of millions or billions of dollars to return it to earth. It doesn't make sense to spend a billion dollars on literal trash.

Yes. Dropping in to the atmosphere is safer and infinitely cheaper than any other choice but not sending things to orbit in the first place.

My first thought was that if they are smart enough to trade for food, they're also smart enough not to.

I've had the same experience. Crows work with scrub jays to get rid of hawks and housecats for the benefit of other animals.

Not much else you can do with them. They won't stay in that low orbit without boosts, and pose a danger if they stay on orbit.

The Who's Hiring threads do allow you to ask questions, but the YC companies posting jobs threads do not.

Yes, it's mostly a critique of those threads as a source. There's no forum to discuss them though. Not here, and the threads discourage feedback about the format. I think folks know there's downward pressure, but I'd rat

Most of the jobs on Who's Hiring threads don't include any compensation, so I don't see how searching that source would be useful for many folks.

Basically my experience with homegrown. If you give it a typescript template for outputs, and a ton of prose to tell it how to respond, you usually get the right responses.

How do you guarantee output structure? Does it ever fail to conform?

Why would anyone have chosen Oracle in the last... 10 years (let alone even further back)? It's expensive, and many things I read from customers hints at deep regret.

Someone else could make a different pdf with a different payload, so even if that specific person just wanted to jailbreak their own phone, others could do bad things with it.

I think that the acceptance and celebration of this kind of thinking has increased, or, maybe I'm just more exposed to it through media.

Neat. My n was on the order of thousands, so that would have taken a while, but it could have been cached.

Do they really have $100B of usd denominated assets? Are they uncorrelated to crypto? Apparently they say it's mostly in US Treasuries: https://tether.to/en/transparency/#reports

I needed something related, n roughly evenly distributed points on the surface of a sphere. Ended up using a Fibonacci spiral. https://extremelearning.com.au/how-to-evenly-distribute-poin...

Pretty risky to get injured or to get a puncture goofing off on the moon.

Chickens eat a lot. They lay less without access to a lot of food rich in fat and protein.

I am not a layperson, and I don't think any of the models take this in to account. Lumpy earth and drag are much larger effects. https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/3655/ https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/impacts&#x

Atmosphere expands and contracts with solar activity and day night cycles, changing drag. That is the primary factor. Top forces in Leo are gravity (lumpy earth, sun, moon Jupiter), drag, solar radiation pressure

Yes. Find a visualization of starlink orbital shells. They are all in one of just a couple inclinations, lots of crossings

Two objects at the same inclination can still have very high relative velocity if on different planes.
