I think the iphone becoming a commodity means the apps themselves are more of the focus. I am surprised Apple never put work into making killer social media app, a search engine, etc. these things live beyond the lifecycle of phones

I feel nostalgia most strongly for my grandmother’s house I used to live in and for Japan where I lived for a year. In both cases I believe the feeling is most acute because these are places I can’t return to or in the case of Japan, am afr

Where do I say anything about zero becoming 1? What I am talking about is that counting arbitrary periods in a given quantity always starts with zero whether you count it or not. If you ground all of those coconuts up and decided to count h

Yeah, it has too many things. Working in mature C# codebases is like wading through a swamp, so many abstractions with long and obscure names that makes holding a mental model of the system in your head twice as hard as TS.

The rub is the thinking a length of 4 maps to four points when in reality, the points are 4,3,2,1,0, totaling 5. I feel like this could all be helped if in casual counting we started at zero, then our entire concept of where the measurement

I was born in the early 90s, was working in film in 2019, broke my back, joined a bootcamp three months later, got a job in 2020, got another 6 months later, and managed to find a house in April 2021 before things started climbing. The comb

Honestly, I like that advice. Crime is a symptom of societal dysfunction, something law enforcement has no real way to combat. The conventional belief that the police can enforce laws makes no sense, you would need an officer for each perso

Using code to code is just faster and simpler than telling an AI to do something, it not being exactly right, wasting time trying to tell it to do it right, and then needing to fix it manually but not having the skills to correct it bc you
