I did something similar with a recent useless Saturday toy project, if the source code helps anyone. https://17dollarphone.com/ https://github.com/baddox/17dollarphone

What would make it good? If there’s a real problem, and you have a real solution that makes sense, what’s not good?

If you knew that, you might choose to avoid the area because the disinfectant probably isn’t 100% effective (not to mention you don’t want to be breathing the air right around where an infected person was just breathing). That’s not really

I don’t know that anyone’s minds have really changed regarding disposable products. The situation is what changed, so that we now tend to think disposable products are okay for the moment given the pandemic.

You said they obsessively research. I said that what the might call “research” is not really the way other people use the term.

Even if the universe is simulated, it’s likely that a tree falling in the woods does have some minuscule causal link with humans that would require the simulation to simulate not just the tree falling but also all resulting effects accordin

We also knew that children tend to look like their parents long before we knew about genes.

The conspiracy theory is a pretty necessary part, because the ideology needs to be able to dismiss the medical status quo, and it’s simpler to claim that the whole system is a conspiracy rather than attempt to address any actual medical or

From my perspective, the main reason for most browser JS projects having a build system is to essentially concatenate modules and to transpile newer JS features so they work on older browsers. That’s really just not as crazy as you make it

If you’re redefining the question as “if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does anyone hear it?” that is much easier to answer but also much less interesting.

Generally we are asking for more information than a definition when we ask “what is something?” Humans knew that “the stars” were those little points of light in the night sky long before we knew much about their composition or evolution.

“Research” is much easier when there’s no accountability mechanism for the claims you’re encountering. People may spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos, but that’s closer to binging a TV show than actually researching treatments.

You probably also don’t want to propagate the gene for “I don’t really want to have kids, but I’m still going to because I think I’m better than the people who are already having kids.”

I did the same on my iPhone but searched for “AMP website” then clicked the first result with the lightning bolt and copied this URL: https://amp.dev/about/websites/

It shouldn’t be true that copying the link grabs a Google URL, right? At least in Safari, it copies the real website’s URL.

“ A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on” has been a cliche for a hundred years. I don’t think internet social networks are a difference in kind, but they probably are a difference in degree.

I don't know if there was a realistic adaptation they could have made. What would they have done, short of simply abandoning their business and becoming a massive social network publisher earlier than the ones that ended up winning? I

To use your analogy, it literally is still burglary when an employee holds the door open to the office for you to enter and steal things. The attackers took over accounts by technical means. This is a perfectly reasonable usage of “hack.”

If this Twitter hack has profound national security implications, then Twitter itself already has profound national security implications that weren’t being appropriately recognized or addressed.

This doesn't really seem to have anything to Twitter's account verification feature. Surely the verified accounts just tend to be more popular and you were just seeing what your feed looks like with less popular accounts.

It is not claiming that the bullet points are exclusive to white culture. It is claiming that they are associated with white culture and that they have become normalized in the United States because of this.
