How does computer use APIs affect this? Isn't the whole idea that a UI that a human can use should also be usable by an agent without a lot of special accommodation made? For high volume automation and API is a lot more efficient, but

It seems that maybe the direction things are heading in is having desktop apps that can take over the computer, and prompt you to sign in yourself when auth is needed. Which would limit the usefulness of something like MCP as the interface
