Ah <3 Upspin! It's been a minute. I've personally read through & love Upspin. I always found solid a little too tied to RDF & the semantic web push. The solid project is/was super valiant effort, but these days I f

Totally biased founder here, but I work on https://github.com/n0-computer/iroh , a thing that started off as an IPFS implementation in rust, but we broke out & ended up doing our own thing. We're not at the poi

wow, thank you for pointing me to IRODS, I was not aware of the project! Big difference I'm seeing as I read the docs for IRODs is a datacenter-grade data management _service_, whereas iroh is a multiplatform SDK for building your own

iroh documents are a work-in-progress implementation of willow: https://github.com/n0-computer/iroh We've been working with the willow team as we go & giving feedback on the spec. disclosure: I work on iroh.

Depends on how you define working :). I'm a 6+ year vet of the IPFS ecosystem, we work on iroh these days, which I think addresses many core issues with the protocol design: https://iroh.computer The biggest challenges stil

hey I work on the project. This isn't a "re-write in rust" thing, we intend to iterate on the protocol itself to drive performance improvements. nearly all of our team are veterans of the IPFS ecosystem who want to see IPFS e

I've invested a fair amount of time into learning TLA+, have bought Hillel Wayne's book (Practical TLA+), and found his stuff super valuable. However, if I could do it again, I would have started in the following order: - 1. Watch

zero-knowledge proofs are a means of showing you know a thing without exposing the thing itself. In the context of lurk, the "thing" is executed computation. That's useful because sometimes computation is expensive, and we&#x

Just for others seeing this, the content of the deck is in fact new. I could totally see how the advice may be the same as a prior deck though.

quick hand raise for the IPFS community, which is yes p2p, no blockchain. I'm working a "git for data" project atop IPFS and aren't hawking a coin. I'll readily admit there are very few yes-p2p and no-blockchain p

Imagine git were built on top of IPFS, and aimed specifically at datasets. Qri uses IPFS to store & move data, so all versions are just normal IPFS hashes. eg this: https://app.qri.io/b5/world_bank_population is ju
