This may or may not be true in some places in China at the moment you posted, who knows. But the internet in China is comprehensively sabotaged.

I don't really have much of an opinion about this because, although it's harm, it's pretty small harm. If I could, I'd just ask him whether he thought English wouldn't be a steaming pile of slop if everyone used it

This is the Banksy argument, and it's crazy. When you walk down the street, your face enters the minds of others without permission.

Hi, I think it's really cool you're thinking along these lines. Giving to charity is great. I know you say it's not enough, but you might be able to get more out of it. I give to Watsi. When the email reports come in about th

It sucks for everyone. For women, it sucks because they're being bombarded and spammed. For men, it sucks because it can be nearly impossible to break through the noise. I'm a guy. I'm extraordinarily serious about relationsh

Stuff like this resonates a lot with me, because I'm interested in Buddhism, and Buddhism is very concerned with suffering, and how people deal with it. Maybe we don't like to think it's so, but things like this could happen

I get what you mean, but I think it's interesting to think about the seemingly simple question "do you believe in the power of prayer?" My reflex was just to say no, because I don't think anyone hears you and offers help

Sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound as if I was speaking for you. What I meant was, if you were actually them, you would be doing the same things they are. Maybe this seems tautological, but I think it's an insight that helps one

It's funny, but I don't think it does much good to think of somebody as dumb. If you or I were actually them, we would be doing the same job. Everyone is getting swept up and used by processes that are too big for them to see.

I hope I'm not alone in thinking "why should we hire you" is a bit of a dumb question and a bit insulting. If I was asked that, I'd be thinking something like: We're all adults here. We know why you're trying t

Is the article a bit strange? They say Liu Zhijun was "removed for corruption", which, of course, in China, does not mean anything. They mention the crash in 2011 but not that the government wrapped up rescue efforts the next day
