And here we see the problem with this particular way of splitting. Although I agree NeurIPS needs to be split up somehow.

Programming is a very social activity, though. It will take a while to automate all the non-coding parts. Yes, if you have a set of tests that the program must pass, we might soon see methods to generate code that passes all these tests. Bu

As a person with an eye condition that also makes things look like that (and worse), it took me a while to see what's wrong with this image.

> Dark modes are a lot easier on the eyes if you spend a lot of time infront of screens [citation needed]. Why do people keep making these general statements. Every time they do counter-examples immediately appear in replies. Why can

Good point. But whether they do (or don't) care, the fact that these problems aren't being fixed for so long now implies that they don't consider the damage to their bottom line to be significant enough to invest any major re

Unfortunately, even if that law existed, how many creators have the financial resources to go to court with someone like YouTube (i.e. Google). I don't think this is the only case where even if you are technically right, you will go ba

This something that is going to have to be planned will also need a way of dealing with copyright issues. It sounds like an extremely difficult problem, which is why YouTube is having trouble in the first place. I doubt they enjoy these (ve

And is that single NN better at any of these tasks when compared to specialized approaches? Don't get me wrong, I agree that AGI is the end goal, I am just not convinced that trying to solve the general problem (before simpler problems

There's certainly a lot to be done, and we'll likely need new approaches. But is it really productive to be tackling a general problem when we don't even know how to solve specific sub-problems? Especially if solving said sub

I've had the same exact thought. I love paper books: the aesthetics (the non-empty spaces on the bookshelf that you mention), the smell (I might be weird), the natural ability to make notes, proper typography, etc. But I do miss my Pap

£45k is for international (that is non-EU, for now, sigh) students, right? It’s £27k otherwise. Which is still a lot, but I think we shouldn’t complain: it’s much less than what top US schools charge, and the tuition loan conditions are ext

It’s sad that people have less time to contribute to public knowledge when hired by big companies, but saying that someone “has peaked” is just mean. I am sure you’d find it easy to say no to Google money.
