also your second paragraph makes it clear you are biased which is another reason to refuse to do coding interviews from my perspective.

all it means is that you repeatedly practiced a set of problems and solutions and are able to quickly reproduce them. it does not mean you have the experience, creativity and insight to create something new and innovative.

as a device creator the main issue is that SoC vendors maintain their own trees and their work doesn’t seem to easily make it into the mainline tree. this causes a lot of work on my end especially because there is no way to manage patches a

no. VCs primarily fund stupid ideas and make choices based on emotion and ego and not common sense. they also have strong ideas about where markets and trends are going which are at best based on analyst reports and cocktail reception chatt

this comes from the leetcode oriented hiring process the process optimizes for people who can repeatedly practice and memorize a set of problems 1000s of times until they can solve them in a few minutes building real software in practice re

I'm not sure. Why? 1) our profession is not respected and has no social status 2) pay is generally not that great compared to other professions (e.g. law) 3) you work for managers or clients who have no clue of how hard this job is an

my theory is that they want more programmers to lower the cost of making software. law prevents this kind of race to the bottom via a bar exam and an actual law degree etc. tech does not have these important career protections in place yet.

a problem with tech careers is that we have to learn all the time. it never ends. many careers do not require this. for example law. maybe you’ll have to get up to speed on a new law here or there once a year. but you will not be learning a

what customers say is not important. focus on what they do and observe them. customers do not know if they will like something. they can only tell you whether they want to buy it or not, when you built it and present it to them.
