It may be just me, but the tracks that distract me the most are the ones with a solid melody line. Such as Willow's Song, easily the most beautiful song about milking a bull: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UOtscTCJBk

Okay, I'm posting. I've been afraid to do so because I might violate some unspoken Hacker News rule and be smitten with downvotes. I think my adventure started with very generic youtube queries for 'afro' or something li

I haven't downvoted you, but I wouldn't recommend Vim either, and it's my favourite editor. Vim is notorious for trapping users, they don't even know how to exit the program! Nano really gets the job done for people who

I used to be interested in such things, but then I found a really nice Funk/Acid Jazz/House/Soul playlist on Youtube (50 videos). Some of them I don't like, but overall - very enjoyable and puts me in a good mood when pr

Flash has the "advantage" that it's used almost exclusively for advertisments. Mostly pretentious people (artists, photographers etc) have websites made of flash. So, by turning off Flash, you block the bulk of annoying ads.

Some good points for reST instead of markdown: * Markdown has many flavors, reST is standarized * reST is extensible * reST is semantic, Markdown is just text. http://ericholscher.com/blog/2016/mar/

I feel offended by the omission of my personal favorite, reStructuredText (reST). It's a very robust and readable markup language, and can easily generate documents in HTML, Linux man, latex, pdf, odt and more. If readability of LaTeX

These are merely extreme cases. Javascript is full of less mind-boggling inconveniences. It's not like they only kept the really bad features for laughs and fixed the rest.

You might trip on one of these misfeatures when a variable doesn't contain what you think it does. Or when you make a typo. In those cases, you're generally grateful for a strongly-typed language or a strict compiler.

There's an implicit fallacy that MS Paint did a lot of good and the world would be a sad place without it. No, something else would fill that niche. The same nostalgia argument has been used for MS Windows, Internet Explorer, etc.

I would use a similar app for something inconsequential, like bird voices. However, mushrooms are often identified to determine whether they can be eaten. The penalty for mistake may be death. So I think I'll pass. For the record, I&#x
