This is the 6th appearance of this lib on HN. That said, it is still one of the most clever things I've seen in terms of front end libs. I stumbled upon it independently about 1.5 years ago, right before the author switched from some r

This does not necessarily imply that the data is unencrypted at rest. The query tool or the query backend could handle decryption seamlessly. S3 offers similar encryption at rest that is invisible to authorized requesters. If the story was

I keep coming back to Titanfall 2. I play a considerable amount of Amped Hardpoint, along with CTF, Coliseum, and whatever is 2XP. Risk of Rain would be my indie game addiction.

As a "DevOps Engineer" at a growing AWS-focused consultancy, I can say that DevOps is not dead, and AWS is not killing it. AWS is our toolbox. We use it to design, build, and deploy powerful, cost effective, and scalable solutions

Usually these posts are in regards to programming or related jobs (data science). While I know that many devs are not wired up to be super outgoing, it is not that hard to find a proper meetup in your area (as long as it exists). And I have

Every time one of those "Ask HN: How do I get a job" comes around, I comment on the importance of networking over throwing resumes into an abyss. Inevitably, someone talks about how they got a great job with a cold application. It

I'm on the fence about TS. I see the value in it, but it can be a lot of trouble to use, and I have found that the mistakes I make are almost all caught by a ESLint (and the remaining mistakes aren't type system mistakes).

I find them to be helpful in being able to see the markup as a complete chunk, without code getting in the way. In teams with "coders" and "designers", this also makes it easier for the designers to understand the compon

Try Vue.js. It's what Angular 2 could have been, if they had taken proper advantage of ES2015 and virtual DOM. Another way of looking at it: Angular 1 and React had a baby, and they named it Vue.js. Vue has HTML templates like Angular

Tossing CVs down an HR portal (to nowhere) isn't a way to find jobs. You find jobs by knowing people . I'm sure there are some developer/designer meetups in Paris. Find one (or many) and start going. That doesn't mean s

I tried using Element on my current project and, like other commenters, found it to lack enough responsive utilities to make it useful. Then I stumbled upon Quasar ( http://quasar-framework.org/ ). It's responsive, suppo

Your post sounded like you're very front end focused. There's 2 options in the consulting world there. The first is to join a front end focused consultancy. There are places that just do UX and front end design. The second is to j

It's hard to say this. On the one hand, they're totally missing out on extra features like WebRTC. On the other hand, they're the only browser with 100% ES2015 shipping and 100% ES2016+ complete in dev. You can beat on them f

Countdown to a sci-fi movie where this idea is only half understood and the "proof of concept" device opens a portal to hell, where we meet the real Maxwell's demon... Now that I've typed this, I want to see it happen.

This. This. This. I have "refurbished" 2 MacBook Pros now, and this is part of my process. Max out the RAM, install SSD, replace battery, reapply thermal paste, clean with canned air. When I did this to a 2009 13" MBP that go
