You said programmers are unaware of contributing to weapons, suggesting a parallel to economists, and then say that economists don’t want to to know that they’re doing something bad. If you’re unaware how could you have something to hide? T

I guess it depends on how you define agent. One interesting example I’ve seen is descript. Someone I know used to pay a video editor for about 5 hours of work to edit down recordings of interviews. Now the tool (agent?) quickly takes out th

Of course the cost isn’t near zero, but is the pricing “at Microsoft’s cost”? If it is, then them building a datacenter wouldn’t save anything, plus would have enormous expenses related to, well, building, maintaining, and continuously upgr

In 2023 Google had $307.39B in revenue and $24B in profit last quarter (suggesting ~100B in profit this year). Meanwhile OpenAI is losing money and making no where near these sums.

Given their scale and direct investments from Microsoft, what makes you think this is any cheaper? They’ll be getting stuff at or near cost from azure, and Azure already exists and with huge scale to amortize all of the investments across m

So this is DNT. As he said, browsers already support this. This article made it sound like they don’t? This is why I’m so confused.

A lot of finger pointing but it’s very light on the specifics. Newsome apparently veto’s it but it doesn’t really go into why. There’s got to be a lot more going on here. Anyone know?

How is the OP right? Huge claims require huge evidence; this trope has been disproven over and over again. Security researchers look at exactly this kind of thing, and nevermind this community is full of the people who would actually build

That literally does happen. Restaurants in places like SF close all the time because they cannot get enough staff since folks cannot afford to live here, and there are maximums the public are willing to pay for a given category of food.
