Quick tip for anyone learning from this thread. If you're using MySQL, it's called a binary log and not a Write Ahead Log, it was very difficult to find meaningful Google results for "MySQL WAL"

I personally love their cpu's for development, can run a solid IDE, have 3 browsers open, compile huge programs with many threads, run 40 docker containers next to each other, have discord, YouTube, Thunderbird etc.. open And it keeps

I did an internship at Bosch a while ago, and I can say they take software licenses very seriously.

Don't know if these work, but iirc there are several svg optimization/simplifiers available as JS libraries on npm and github. Is there something there that would help, perhaps?

10$ of the 20$ go to the FSF and parabola devs. The other 10$ is for the developer who made this. I don't mind paying for good work.

I'm currently looking into this for streaming (twitch in particular) specifically. A musician can license their music within the Creative Commons. This means that people can do almost whatever they want, use it wherever, remix it, etc.

It had nothing to do with fitting in for me. It felt more like I already was a girl, but my body grew into the wrong direction. I just had to transition otherwise I didn't feel like myself, and now I do.

HN as a technical audience is probably not your target audience, but I do think users of flashcards tend to be students. I don't know many students who (1) want to use flashcards and (2) have the money to pay 5$ a month for something t

Having followed Maciej for a couple of years, I seriously doubt he'd ever fall into the trap of feature creep. He's one of the most pragmatic software engineers, if not people, I've ever encountered.

It reminds me of a philosophy class where the goal is to find an accurate and all-capturing definition of what a chair is. It is tremendously difficult, perhaps impossible.

I appreciate your post, you make it very clear why it is reasonable to ask questions like this one, and explain why it's difficult to get to meaningful answers. It's very level-headed :)
