I think Rust and C/C++ are in the same boat here: both can produce tiny wasm binaries of 100 bytes or less. Here's a post about Emscripten generating a 42 byte binary from C: https://hacks.mozilla.org/2018/01&

Adding a "click to start the experience" button changes the experience. In particular, some users might not see the button if it's subtle, and be unimpressed or think the site is broken. And if the button is not subtle that&#

I'm not aware of any plans to support a malloc/free API currently. GC plans are already underway. Thinking about it, it's actually not that obvious how to support a malloc/free API. It seems like it would need to be det

C# etc. shipping a runtime is a current limitation of wasm and those ports to wasm. But in principle once wasm has GC support they can also compile to tiny binaries. Not for everything, of course - if you use certain C#/Java/Kotli

Sounds like you were seeing an old emscripten SDK bug, where it compiled LLVM+clang unnecessarily and with debug info (which is very slow). Currently there shouldn't be anything like that, it will download a binary build of LLVM+clang

It depends how much time they put into it. No one checks how many games they play, so one player could play only on weekends while another might also play a few hours every evening.

You're assuming those are random numbers. As the article says, they are only semi-random (that's one of the big surprises they found). And you can see from the numbers that it's not just Mitchell's values that deviate fr

Yes, the longer the game is the closer the average will be to the true average. But given a fixed or bounded game length, you can play enough games to get as much deviation from the average as you want. Again, the numbers need to be run. Th

Well, the "asm.js to wasm" path actually isn't pure asm.js anymore. We added i64 support and other things a while back, as intrinsics. So the asm2wasm path isn't limited by asm.js. It's weird ;) but it produces good

It should be possible to reduce that a bunch more, 65kB sounds high. Running the binaryen optimizer on that wasm shrinks it by 6%. Probably more can be done on the Rust side.
