GPT2 was released open. It’s been years. Microsoft’s CELA has vetted it. If they are thumbs up, I don’t see why others would be averse. Unless it’s not the reason. Methinks it isn’t.

It most definitely was. The chat output of GPT4 is much faster now and much worse quality. If you go in the playground and use the March 14 api (as opposed to the default GPT4 API) it is high quality and slow. Yes, there are two GPT4 API en

It’s already out. It’s worse but faster at generating tokens.

Almost guaranteed this is it. It’s only a matter of time before Microsoft swallows OpenAI whole. And at that point there will be several competing products like Dynamics Copilot, etc. The lines are blurring, but I probably think the comment

This wasn’t about the few square feet needed to open up a corner or an easement on those few square feet. It was about this asshole millionaire rancher who thought of the public land (thousands of acres) as his and harassed these hunters.

I think it depends on if you step on the land or jump across only using the airspace. In the US the land laws follow many British/Roman ancient laws. A land owner doesn’t own the airspace above or the ground below. Only what they are r

He also illegally put chains up to prevent access to the public land across the corner. He also sent his ranch employees to harass the hunters while they were on public land. Clowns.

If the fed raises the interest rates, my stocks go down in value. Do I sue the fed for my losses? Ranch owner logic.

Keyword here is assumption. And it’s a pretty shit assumption if you ask me, that public land is somehow yours because you own the land next to it. Fine the owner for having blocked access to the public land with chains. Uno reverse card.

The airspace rights have already been settled. Remaining at issue is waypoint 6 and if trespass did occur. Judge set the max judgment at $100.

Would be even funnier if the state brings eminent domain to seize a few square feet of land in each corner and build a little bridge that welcomes you across each corner. And pays market value for a few square feet of ranch land.

There is a contested aspect if one of the defendants did trespass and listed the max judgment as $100. The $8M loss of value is such a joke.

No, the judge said, you can cross the corner as long as you don’t step on the private land. The land owner may not create a physical obstacle at that corner. And if there is one, you are allowed to scale it to get to the other side of the c

I’m sure you think this is a clever reply but the reality is that GitHub wouldn’t even begin to think if that were even technically possible. If it got out that it trained on confidential customer data, it would be game over. The risk is so

You took me literally. Basically IRS can file taxes for all your details without adjustments. If you want to make adjustments, there should be an easy way to fill them in and be done with them. Donations, tax credits, etc. Most brokers send

Compared to GPT2 it’s on par. Compared to GPT3, 3.5, or 4, it’s a toy. GPT2 is 4 years old, and in terms of LLMs, that’s several life times ago. In 5-10 years, GPT3 will be viewed as a toy. Note, “progress” will unlikely be as fast as it ha

Just because the outcome would have been the same doesn’t mean we can just allow this to happen with not even a slap on the wrist. This should be serious jail time.

I remember back then, it was abundantly clear that this is what it was. Ajit Pai was against it. He’s a corporate shill. They were doing stuff deliberately to sour the process. Also, like 100% of the fake comments were against net neutralit

So then the person who uploaded your code to GitHub has committed a copyright violation and I’m sure GitHub would honor to remove your code from the model training corpus as it was illegally uploaded to GitHub.

Agreed. I was just saying in the current environment GitHub has that license, nobody else has. So if the courts decide one day that because machines learn differently from humans, they will allow copyright holders to add a license exception

Spitting out lines or paragraphs from a repo is most likely fair use. Unless you can reproduce a substantial portion of a repo, I think it’s going to be an uphill battle to argue it isn’t fair use. Though I suspect Copilot’s suppression fea

That’s part of the rub. YouTube doesn’t break copyright law if a user uploads copyrighted material without proper rights. Now, if YT was a free for all, then yeah. But given it does have copyright reporting functionality and automated syste

GitHub’s EULA gives GitHub permission to train Copilot on public code you host on GitHub regardless of the license you have chosen for that code. Even without this, in terms of copyright, since Copilot doesn’t do what your public code does,
