The best way to branch seems to be to release the code but hide it with a switch so that only developers can see it. This way, when you release the new feature, all you are doing is enabling it for everyone else.

That's very cool way to put it: Skitch on a Feedback tab. We should have thought of that. :) Since you can demo the product on the page (using the feedback tab, or the Preview button on the wizard) we kept the video more about general usage

Wordpress. They have an open source software, and they also have a Wordpress.com site that serves the same software as a SaaS service. But I'd say it would be very hard to maintain both an open source project and a web app at the same time.

We have load balanced servers so I'm surprised nginx wasn't able to handle the traffic. I will check the configuration once the traffic levels are low. I must have done something wrong in the configuration.
