Don't. Instead, grandfather existing subscriptions. Let them stay on the same price. They will appreciate it and they will be less likely to cancel their subscriptions in the future. Only change the price for new subscribers.

Agreed with the author on this: One of the most common problems with APIs is unclear/incomplete error messages. When you don't know what is causing the problem you are stuck.

There are cases where a free plan actually makes sense. Does the usage increases with time? Many users start using JotForm with very low usage and then after using it for months or years they go over the 100 submission/month limit. I believ
