Do you consider sales tax, etc as tax?

Agree. I don't pretend to know everything that's going on within a business. However, long term strategy/direction of a company is fairly easily observable.

   > But management and shareholders certainly would like the business to be around for as long as possible. And for that you always need to develop and change. I agree with everything you said except this part. Maybe I'm jaded, everyt

I get that part, but why would 100% margin on buys eliminate the buys? If I have $100K cash, I can still buy $50K of XXX and meet the margin requirement. They are blocking buys, but not sells.

Ah, that actually make sense. I don't see how RH allows sell, but not buy. That's just insanely corrupt because it clearly manipulates the market.

That would block all margin trades, no? Not a specific instrument. I understand why they did it, but it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

A has 1 share of GME. B borrowed it from A and sell to C. C has 1 share of GME. See, magically, A and C has 1 share of GME each.

I looked at my margin document, other than Federal Reserve requirements and account restriction, there is no provision stating they can block a specific eligible stock as long as I meet their margin requirement.

Why should broker allow margin trading at all? If it's about risk, then who's the decider/calculator of the risk? I think this is the reason why there is a distrust from the next generation.

This isn't a fundamental based investment on both sides. Even if you believe GME is about to go out of business, shorting it at 140% is ridiculous. This is momentum trade on both sides. The difference is all establishment (news media,

I'm not 100% sure about that. I used to drive a lot in western NY (mostly burned out industrial city/towns from WW2). Every decent size town that I've been to has multiple dealership right in the middle of the city. And yes,

I don't know IBKR's system, but most OMSs will accept an order unless it's blatantly wrong such as invalid stock. It's the execution engine that really enforce the rules.

In that case, you would need to get rid of derivative markets and perhaps leveraging mechanism such as margins. I do believe banning certain instruments from the market can have a positive effect, but I'm not sure if short-sell is one
