Since the beginning of 2024, official exchange rate of Argentina peso to USD is relatively flat compared to the declining rate before Milei was elected. To me, this indicates that inflation is slowly stablizing. But I know there is also &qu

When I say decentralized, I mean security measures and updates taken locally at the facility. For example, MRI machines are local, and they get maintained and updated by specialists dispatched by the vendor (Siemens or GE)

Lots of innovation came from Bell Labs or other national laboratories that are foundations of many modern technologies. I always thought that private sector alone cannot make technological progress fast without the help of the government sp

Yeah, lots of things Python can do but Bash cannot simply because of vast selection of third party modules available in Python.

You use Bash for that not because it is better, but because UNIX related binaries are configured in Bash.

Is there anything Bash does that Python can't do? I feel like using Python is just way better than using Bash.

This game brings me so much nostalgia. I used to play SC when I was a middle school student from 2000 to 2002. I was so good at the game that around my age group I was probably the best in Seoul. I also participated at a pro tournament (ong

Ilya is definitely much smarter than me in AI space, and I believe he knows something I have no grasp of understanding in. But my gut feeling tells me that most of the general public will have no idea how dangerous AI could be including me.

This is exactly my point about the word AI. They should not use the word AI to describe LLMs or any other generative models. Then again, words evolve to mean different things over time, so AI is a fine term to stick with.

Maybe I am naive about the progress in this space, but we should not use the word "AI" first because it adds to the confusion many people have about DNN based programs. So called AI is not much different from many software we'

There was one part that I didn't understand about AI compute: For certain tasks, server side compute will be done as on-device chip is not powerful enough I suppose. How does this ensure privacy in verifiable manner? How do you CONFIRM

I am sure people are priced out of "desirable" places. I don't think this can be fixed by oversupplying homes in specific areas. You need to incentivize people to move into low dense areas.

Help me understand how the inflation has not slowed down in Argentina. I am looking at Argentina peso to usd chart over the past one year, and recent devaluation of peso is relatively flat compared to the declining rate a few months ago.
