FWIW, I'm 32. I guess you can go chasing girls in night clubs when you're older, but it's way easier to do that stuff when you're young. Similarly it's possible for people to wait until their 40s to have kids, but I'd say it's far easier

Thanks :) Cool, as long as you can fit in all you want to achieve in life it's all good. I spent a lot of my teens sat in front of a computer writing assembly language, and although infinitely enjoyable and useful to me now, I probably did

I'd say that you can start companies at any stage of life. You can start a company age 50, and probably have far more chance at success based on your extra knowledge. However, you can't really go to night clubs, chase girls, play dirt bikes

It's cool they're using Android now. I had one of the Archos AV300 range devices when they first came out (6 or 7 years ago?), which used their own proprietary OS which was fairly rubbish. I r/e'd most of the hardware, firmware format, encr

The sheer suckiness of US networks never ceases to amaze. For a supposed 'technology' country it's amazing how backward they are, and just how much they have customers by the balls. And the customers don't seem to mind.

Unfortunately I took Music 'A' Level at school (age 16-18). It was pretty much all music theory - history of composers, analyzing music, etc. Pretty much no playing music at all. Boring as hell.

not really, not everyone plays a musical instrument either :/ Up to you what you enjoy. I don't read novels.

I'm from the UK. Potty training generally happens at age 2 or 3. To achieve full dry night potty training is usually more like age 3. However, it's pretty common for kids to need a lot more time to go through the night dry.

Analyzing code and naming patterns is far harder than just writing and reading code. Also it's kinda pointless. If you go up to an improvising musician and tell them how amazing the hemiola cadence they just used was, they'd probably tell y

I disagree. The companies chasing the hype are bubble companies. The companies providing value, creating profits are using old boring tried and tested unfashionable technology.

I buy groceries at the same store each week, which has its own loyalty/voucher scheme, as is the norm here at least (UK). Yeah I shop for various things in town, but I can't be bothered with vouchers for them. I guess if you're a very promi

If there was ever a sign of a bubble, it's this comment. Some local coupon startup thingy bigger than Google? u-huh. People have been saying 'local is gonna be big' for years. I don't see why. Why do they think more money will be spent loca

It'd be great to kill the hype, unfortunately though it seems to have always been there, it just moves around... Java -> Ruby on rails -> node.js etc etc

I don't think any stretch of the imagination would say it's unique. Good design choice, but exists many places.

There's simplifying, and misleading. The only thing node.js does that other frameworks don't, is uses javascript as a language syntax.

Pretty much any webserver can do that though. Even apache can easily be setup to do that. So it's not really unique to node.js. Definitely a good design decision, but as I say, not unique to node.js.

I'd get rid of the 'node.js runs everything in parallel' BS unless you can back it up with facts and numbers. It reads like complete rubbish atm. Also I have no idea what you're talking about with 'connections to the OS'. Sounds like more F

Just saying, when everything seems 'easy' and you're making money without really trying, I've felt low at the points when I've experienced that. I think it's completely natural to feel depressed when life doesn't feel like a challenge. It s

So much name calling and playground idiocy. Just looking at a sample of the tweets made my head hurt. Surely most of us don't use Tor because 1. It's slow as hell 2. We're not doing anything illegal or trying to get past censorsh
