A lot. And it baffles me why hasn't anyone realized that Kenneth Reitz was right about django over a decade ago and all his points are equally valid today. https://speakerdeck.com/kennethreitz/flasky-goodness

There's a world of difference between OpenAI and Hugging Face. OpenAI simply has the word "open" in their name, while there is nothing open about them. Hugging Face on the other hand deserves a ton of credit and praise in tha

Oh no, our community has been incredibly helpful in that regard. They do report things if they see them. I was really pleasantly surprised by that to be fair. And as time goes, you lean who your most valuable contributors are and you start

Ok, hear me out: I am a mod of two very large subs. The larger one and the one were I am mostly active is HUGE. To give you an idea how large, there are anywhere between 7 and 15000 comments per day and in terms of active moderators, it

Hardly any presence. I have a twitter account but it's practically dead. The only social media account I use regularly is my reddit account but only for administrative purposes: I'm a moderator of one of the top-5 largest subs. So

Tough call, I guess it kinda depends. To an extent we saw that with Rust when Graydon Hoare decided he didn't want to lead the development and left it to the community. And the community did a pretty good job(despite some pretty valid

Greg had to take over for short periods in the past and did an excellent job. You could argue that he took over when most of the stuff was already set in stone but still, he did a good job. That said, I'm not sure if he can or would be

Technically I have 2 servers as we stand: 1. An old raspberry pi, which serves only one purpose: ssh access server: a way for me to access my home network from the outside world. 2. Asus PN-40 mini pc with a custom 3D-printed stand with a f

A few more important points: The costs of running the whole operation. Google so far has been unmatched in extracting every single cent from every customer and have tried to keep their operations as optimized as possible. ChatGPT is a gimmi

I tend to agree. I've said multiple times how much I miss google reader. HOWEVER... We need an RSS 3.0. Let's face it, parsing XML is an extremely tedious and slow task, even if you are using a fast compiled language. There are a

I feel you. I'm gonna be honest, I've lost count of my attempts(solo or with others) for a course of 12 years. 2 years ago I completely gave up. This isn't an endeavor that anyone can take. Some of us are not built for it. As

Dunno about the most exciting but the most irritating so far is seeing it up. Admittedly I didn't spent a lot of time trying(I didn't have all that much time today) but in the 40 minutes or so, I was unable to get it going. I'

I use a hardware switch, albeit for a different reason: I hate the beeping sounds all videoconferencing apps make when you mute/unmute yourself. I guess a good call overall.

Depends. Not the systems themselves but more the scope of the work and how it is being done. If the field is boring or the design itself is bad(with no ability to make it better, whether it's simply by design, code quality or whatever)
