Aren't I then computing the value of total_len for my largest object numerous times? That was why I went for the map, it made some sense to pre-compute the lengths and then find the largest one. Certainly I could implement some caching mech

1. Don't use with. It's hard to reason about, and it breaks many compiler optimizations (you're adding a dynamic object into the scope chain). 2. Just don't ever use == or !=. Forget they exist. Done.

The docs say that this will work best on a unix like system but doesn't say what that means or whether it will work on Windows. Has anyone tried this on Windows? Does it work?
