I'm a heavy Bill Simmons podcast listener as well as with other podcasts on the Ringer Network. I had only head music by Taylor Swift sporadically in the past. Those podcast discussions about Swift in the last several years have height

I was just in line at the grocery where an elderly couple bought $600 worth of groceries and paid by check. I wasn't even sure stores still took checks.

Yes, location, location, location. I'm a Bay Area resident in a crappy 76 y/o house worth > 2M. And surprisingly happy about it.

I've lived in Palo Alto and Menlo Park since 1987 and I go to San Francisco a couple times a month. I had my bike stolen at a Caltrain station. Someone yelled at me once South of Market. I've seen drug usage in UN Plaza. I'v

I live in Menlo Park. We frequently go to SF for cultural/historical/nature reasons. But to go shopping, it's far easier to drive and park at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto or Santana Row in San Jose. I've stopped

This reminded me to check my gmail spam folder. It included a short message I sent to myself as a reminder and a message from my health care provider.

Appreciate the empathy towards SF residents. I'd say the epicenter of the tech industry is to the south of San Francisco: Silicon Valley/Santa Clara County/San Mateo County e.g. Google, Apple, Facebook, Sand Hill Road.

The Bay Area is also geographically constrained by water and mountains. This is compared to say a plains city that can greatly expand in all directions e.g. Dallas (?).

That's a good point about use cases. In my usage of ChatGPT, in areas I'm very knowledgable. I've mostly received answers that were stylistically excellent, creatively plausable and maybe even transcendent. The boilerplate ar

Google is an ad-driven company and they haven't yet figured out to generate ad revenue from Waymo... (Having said that, it's cool that the Mountain View office building I used to go to is now occupied by Waymo).

I suspected that the problems were strategic and cultural, not just operational. Being cheap and efficient seems hard-wired into Southwest's business. They may have lost their way on being friendly, however.

Maybe a sufficing vs. optimizing problem?. It seems like a doable journey if you put thought into it. Mainstream America can now keep their phone charged. In x years, the same for keeping their vehicle charged?
