On Reddit/Quora there is more context. You can see other replies, upvote count, and evaluate based on "fishy-ness" of the overall tone of writing. But with an LLM chat every answer has the same obnoxious college essay forma

That's interesting, you mean something you forgot but could verify when you see the answer? Or something you know, but you need a write-up for it or something?

Yeah, I guess I should have said I think AI chat interfaces in general would be more useful if they could help with the questions that weren't already easy to answer. Sometimes I can get use out of an LLM chat, but it's really hi

The main thing I want LLMs to help with is obscure stuff. If the answer is mainstream or well known, I can get it more reliably through a normal web search.

I wonder if part of the calculation is that it may hurt the closed-source competition.

You can just talk to your AI companion about it. If you involve another human there's always a chance somebody might be slightly bored or inconvenienced, so we want to avoid that.

I've been thinking along those lines too, but more from the angle that our goal is to eliminate any need to rely on other humans for anything. We consider the need for interacting with other humans as a burden and an inconvenience, an

Oh okay, that makes sense. If you go to preorder, and then FAQ->specifications, it does say ~20 deg for the frames too.

> Brilliant Labs claim an incredibly wide-range of FOV The website says ~20 degree diagonal FOV, isn't that really low? I thought XReal/Viture/etc had around 40 FOV.

I agree that would be a false narrative to some extent, but in this thread I don't see a better explanation. Just the idea that in e.g. parts of the USA they have been told it's impossible to control their weight, so they then go

It might be that simple from a high level conceptual standpoint, but when the amount of calories you burn passively adjusts up or down as your body fights to maintain its weight, it is much more complex.

Couldn't your body burn more or fewer calories passively and release the energy as heat? Or you could make more or fewer micro movements throughout the day, in a way that adds up to whatever your body thinks energy expenditure should

I don't mean "gaining respect" like that's some explicit goal, but I do feel like people are pretty concerned with others, and most of us do really care about the opinions of others. It might be selfish on some level bu

To me it seems like a fundamental motivation - we do art because we want to impress those around us, gain respect, help to attract a mate, make money... Those reasons don't exist without other people to show our art to, and are much l

Okay, I see. I'm less worried about AI running the whole thing, and more about the diminishing quality of life for creators. Also I'm less sure than you about AI being unable to compete with larger pieces of work in the near fut

The icon for the game explainer one is a die with two 5s on it. I wonder if they use ChatGPT to write their blog articles as well...

I have this and I'm not even a good guitarist, but I used to practice every day. Now my index finger curls into my palm whenever I try to play. It sucks, and cratered my practice time because now practice is just frustrating. I hope

That's so cheap though, you'd have to sell hundreds of thousands of copies per year to even support a few developers, in the USA anyway. The app store model is driving companies towards subscriptions and micro-transactions, becau

Yeah, this price is frustrating from a small developer perspective. Back when prices were established, tablets weren't used for anything serious, so productivity apps were simple and cheap. Now Procreate is used for professional work

I'd be careful of anthropomorphizing this too much though. Yesterday I was experimenting with a ChatGPT (3.5) Twitch streamer that played a text adventure, that was supposed to return JSON like this: { "speak_out_loud": &quo

Just to be clear, since you say it's local, when you say no code is sent to a third party AI that includes Codeium? For search and indexing, code is not sent over the network at all?

The examples you gave sound like they would only be for the top tier of today's artists though, or a small number of AI taste supervisors, not the general workforce. A company would need to hire far fewer people if all they need to do
