That was an interesting (and short!) read. Most of what he wrote is applicable to ML/AI today. A direct link to the pdf for those too lazy to click twice: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?arnumber=105677

I agree it's not great, but it seems to be more of a request? I can view the page by closing the popup, without the need to disable my adblocker.

That was a lovely read, thank you. I particularly enjoyed the analogy between 'a poorly-written computer program' (i.e. one with a lot of duplication due to inadequate abstraction), and the importance of using the appropriate math

Me too! I think it's the pontification presented in a self-aware, humorous way. I strongly agree with about half of the essay, while I want to agree with the other half in principle, but instead I think it is indeed "...so ridicul

There is currently a typo in the link which prevents it from working - the correct link is https://static.usenix.org/publications/compsystems/1993/win_... Interesting read, thanks!

A blog post about the Tao Te Ching, and Taoism in general. Includes an LLM generated version of the Tao Te Ching at the end, along with a discussion of the process of creating it, and the quality of the output (ok but not amazing).

I recommend writing for the sake of writing. Posting content can be scary, but as others have said: just don't add a comments section. You'll avoid the majority of the unhelpful 'your writing is awful and you suck' type

No specific advice I'm afraid - although I guess you could try just expanding the entire page and leave the margins blank? In any case, keep on writing!

Hey! You have some interesting content. If you had a rss/atom feed I'd happily subscribe to it. A comment on your site: I have to zoom to 300% on firefox to get what seems like a 'natural' view. Without this it feels lik

Thanks for a thoughtful response :). I agree with most of what you say. You are right that 50 years is a long time - that was poor phrasing on my part.

My apologies if this came across as tone deaf. I in no way mean to minimise the damage caused by apartheid, which was one of the great evils of the 20th century. One of the challenges in writing is realising that no matter how hard you try,
