Matrix has push, at least on Android.

matrix.org is pretty good. Theoretically a well configured XMPP server would do.

I can't find the download of the data with an open license, could you help me find it? The Developer page only lists APIs for single lookups and the license page says things like "Please don't store any of our data."?

I was hoping for some long article or interview, not a couple of embedded tweets.

Of course it depends, that's why I explicitly said "if all your peers use it".

Society kinda does. If all your peers use it to communicate, you would be a hermit if you did not participate.

Let me counter that with: As long as the quality of online journalism is measured by clicks and ad impressions, its purpose is not journalism.
552.
by aw3c2 11y ago
Not necessarily. They might be under the impression that the public does not fully understand the economics and how the world really works.

Is that bound to their servers or can I use any standard XMPP server?

I would not think that a shallow, surface induced quake like this would travel far.

And the click-bait media vultures are already hacking into it, despicable. http://i.imgur.com/MROUpJ6.jpg

What is it?

Those example images are of really low quality video. Usually people who care about image quality do not care about that. Can you show some ~720p 5mb/s x264 versus 3-4mb/s VP9 samples?

I love it because it puts garbage in that intrusive tracking analysis.

I was told docker runs things as root and is not secure, just convenient.

Define sandbox. I'd give firejail a try.

It is because it's 2015 and people have taken a liking in using JavaScript to do awful things with design for no good reason.

It would look 99% the same if you just plotted the coordinates with some (smartly chosen) transparency

A great reminder that public key identity management is quite the unsolved annoyance. Why should you use the same key everywhere, allowing others to track you? Ideally you would have one key per service.
566.
by aw3c2 11y ago
Just use another key. I have like 20. It sucks that doing this is pretty complicated though. Separation of identities is crucial on the internet.

That is just each point plotted on a map. So, check out software that can make maps? QGIS is nice.

Do emojis always look the same or are there different sets? I often wonder if the emotion that I feel some icon perfectly shows, will be displayed the same way at the recipient. I know that fonts and icon sets are usually different per app.
