Really not an interesting topic. It's been rehashed a million times, and the pornography angle just doesn't make sense. VHS cost 1/4 as much as recorded 4x as long. That's why they won.

The idea is to bypass syntax checking while trying to be anonymous, not perpetrate identity fraud.

Every startup is not HN-worthy; when there's a particular aspect, feature, or discussion to be had, great. When it's the actual website with absolutely no commentary being submitted by employees... not HN-worthy, yeah. This is a d

Unsure why this is HN-worthy. It is a startup website that lets you log into companies you are visiting.

Which is what Slack does, the ideal use case I was describing. The person I was replying to inquired as to why uploading the image and pasting a link was a problem. He said: "Limechat shows image links inline, which is good enough for

You have to upload the image yourself, then. In a workflow, this is a time-waster.

Why does something have to be an online service, and not an app? I'd presume that most people who are doing sports are fairly active and own a mobile phone.

All that stuff is subjective. Seems fine to me, wouldn't really matter unless it was turning away users. I do wish their logo worked @2x, the entire site has retina-versions for images except the logo which causes it to look grainy on

In some cases they connect 3rd-party delivery services with the store as well. AFAIK, Postmates and Caviar are the only two companies going with the two-party model, but employing their own delivery drivers/couriers.

I worked for this same company, and wholeheartedly agree. This type of product is a non-starter. Companies like Legit.co, Trustcloud, and Scaffold have all tried this and failed. Furthermore, there's really not much value in the scale

Why would Apple care about your data? They do not make money off ad sales, they make money off platform adoption. A private and secure platform results in more adoption.

What's the point of homebrew cask? Why is it any easier than finding an app I need and installing it normally?

Read the article, not just the headline. ;) "A few months ago while tagging my wife “at”Kathleen on Instagram I noticed her username was no longer displaying as “@kathleen”, but rather “_____kathleen”."

Interesting. If true, this seems to contradict the statement released here: http://docs.openvpn.net/important-security-notice-regarding-... Have you contacted OpenVPN directly?

It makes more sense to rename the account. In the case of a user having old photos, likes, or comments, they don't lose all their history. Another HN commenter had a similar experience: https://news.ycombinator.com/item

Interesting. Is this something that works for people? Even with a 6 hour layover, I'd probably be stressed about getting back to the airport in time, unless I heavily limited my activities.

This isn't actually an uncommon policy. For example, Twitter lets (or used to let?) you take a username that's inactive for 9 months. Source: http://sarahwallace.wordpress.com/2010/09/23/how-to-reque

Does node even have an x-powered-by response header by default? I thought you need a framework (like Express.js) and then to not have turned off the header.
