That sure is an awesomely out-of-context headline! Here's the real quote: "With Microsoft, and other operating system vendors, I think the complexity of managing your computer is really torturing users," Brin said. "It's torturing everyone

This is the same gut reaction I had, but custom scroll bars, used tastefully in divs instead of in the body element, are useful. A good example in the article is from Forrst: http://cdn.css-tricks.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/webkitv...

Tabs are nice if you are programming just a couple files, or several files from different locations. Any more than that, and I agree that they're far too unwieldy. Vico also has an open files dropdown, and, of course, a folder explorer, as

You can also add GitHub users to the bundles list, and it'll pull down all of their repos with "tmbundle" in the name.

As I said in the TechCrunch comments - If it's anything (it's not, but it's fun to pretend), it could be a sign of integration between the Mac and iOS App Stores. Even if one isn't actually being rolled into each other (which I would assume

More and more people are using their PCs with big TVs, so hopefully it'll make a comeback. Valve announced Steam will have a big screen/TV mode soon, and it'll be interesting to see if Portal 2 supports split screen natively (L4D 1+2 did, b

The three released/finished games in the pack - Trine, Shadowgrounds, and Shadowgrounds Survivor - are all excellent local co-op games. Trine needs 0 configuration to work with Xbox 360 controllers, and I'm fairly sure the other two games w

Uh... wow. This actually came at a crappy time for me, since right now I don't have a lot of disposable income - I'm 17 and jobless (no available transportation...). I would try to pay at least $100 or something, but right now I'm almost fl

Oh, many a time. Spent a couple days just browsing eBay for Mac Minis. Truth is, though, I really won't have the kind of money to drop on a system for quite some time. Hell, I wouldn't even have a laptop if I wasn't lucky to enough to recei

Delicious Library: one of the apps that makes me wish I could afford a Mac. Genius stuff; shame there doesn't seem to be a Windows equivalent.

I'm not a huge fan of the Tetris implementation - I need my hold pieces and the little shadow at the bottom (child of the 90s, sorry to all you purists ;]) - and items are kinda difficult to use in this one, but it's still /totally awesome/

I think it's a combination of not wanting to deal with approval and Apple (their Kindle app theoretically could be dropped for not using Apple's in-app-purchase system [which is pretty much impossible for an app with 5000+ IAPs!]), the rumo

See, I pay $20 a month for two gigs (family plan for texts, so I don't think I can really compare that). Also, Virgin Mobile in what country? I'm kind of curious if that plan's still available; seems most providers are scaling back.

I kind of wonder: do people really have the kind of data plans that can take advantage of this? Maybe it's because I'm stuck with my AT&T two gig/month plan, and I don't personally know anyone with an unlimited plan that wasn't grandfat

It's Adobe AIR, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Linux client soon. It's not that much more functionality than manually uploading folders through CloudDrive though.

Great, now I get to stop working away from home. I mean, I can barely pay the $20-25/mo for 2 gigs, let alone $45/mo for 4 + tethering.

There's certainly money in enterprise, but not so much for the hobbyist coders. If you or a small team make an app, you're not exactly going to survive off donations alone (my ~5500 user Chrome app has had all of two donations :| ).
