I'm over 40. I can't see all the pixels on a 4k display, let alone 8k. I'm still happy with my 2013 MBP w/ Retina.

It's wild that your blog, and probably your introduction to a lot of people, still has that damn pop-up once I've read two paragraphs. I was actually interested in what you do, and now I'm commenting on HN and going on to the

Bad laws notwithstanding, I think GP getting downvoted for giving police the benefit of the doubt. In today's America, I think it's fair to be a skeptic first when it comes to the cops.

Sure, but now you've made it a custom product. Small movies will just use real guns + blanks.

It's a catch-22 in the US. You can't have a non-lethal gun that looks like a lethal one because the cops will shoot you. Once it looks different, they don't want it in a movie.

Hey OP, your numbered list example has the same output as the unordered list.

Most of the good places in New Haven (Pepe's, Sally's, ...) didn't even do slices. New Haven style requires a fresh, whole pie.

Yeah, this guy needs to visit Wooster St stat. Also, my fave place after living in New Haven for a year was technically in West Haven (Zuppardi's) but that's splitting hairs.

<bikeshed> It feels off to call things like Array part of any library when you have array literal syntax `let oddNumbers = [1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15]` I'd call that a language feature. Or maybe with Swift there is a blurry line

You can get adjuncts and undergrads to be replacement TAs, but from my 2nd-hand experience via my wife (PhD in psychology) it would be research where things fall apart. The tenured professors rely heavily on PhD students to run grant-funded

Since GitHub alerted Okta, I'm assuming they use the regular, hosted github.com. I'm kinda shocked a security company doesn't have a private GitHub Enterprise server behind a firewall.

I've never gotten into FPS eSports for this reason. To me, Starcraft is the perfect eSport - imperfect knowledge for the players. Perfect knowledge for the casters and viewers. It's a great moment when someone tries to hide someth

Thanks for obliging me. But I think the math ended up being superfluous. It's about the rich getting richer. Which makes sense to me, unfortunately.

Not to be too pedantic, but you showed 0 math. If the company's revenue grows at or above 3%, there is no math "problem".

To be pedantic, that just mean a script exists that can roll the new cert out everywhere it needs to be. There could still be a human who needs to initiate that script being run.

I agree with this take. The student loan is only one where the lender faces almost no risks. It does not seem fair or precedented to put 100% of the risk for the loan on the borrower.
