I've certainly built stuff with it that is useful, and some if it is even production, but none of it as complex as, say, the Clamato environment itself. I don't know of anyone else who has.

They share only one defining feature? Bullshit. If we include "garbage collected", that gets rid of C and C++. If we include "dynamically typed", that gets rid of OCaml, ML, Haskell. If we include "single namespace for functions and variab

Oh, come on, you're cherry picking the features that suit your argument. If we include "garbage collected", that gets rid of C and C++. If we include "dynamically typed", that gets rid of OCaml, ML, Haskell. If we include "single namespace

This is off-topic, but I've heard a surprising number of people in the valley say precisely that about Vancouver. I figure if you all just move there , at once, that the problem will solve itself. Actually coordinating that is impossible,

Good point, though going into Civil Disorder is leaving the game - I guess this would let them leave it on their terms, possibly screwing over one of the remaining players in favor of another, but that doesn't strike me as that big a weakne

AbeBooks is Victoria, and Club Penguin is Kelowna. For those with a SF reference frame, those are roughly equivalent to Sacramento and Sonoma, respectively. But yes, Vancouver is still a great place to do a startup :)

Yes, there are specific rules in Diplomacy for handling the case where someone doesn't fully or properly submit their orders - eventually your units go into "Civil Disorder". It's not a problem.

I'm no crypto expert, but just thinking this through: In Diplomacy, all that's required is that you commit to your orders before seeing anyone else's; once everyone has committed, all the orders are revealed. What if, for every turn, every

Dan, thanks for tracking that down. It's ironic (given the subject matter) that I didn't go to primary sources myself; I just went with the Picasso-attributed version from memory :)

Server-side javascript is only relevant here if it has access to a working DOM, since that's what any HTML generation or templating is going to be based on. At that point you basically do have a headless browser, whether you call it that o

The problem is actually, more or less, building up the search index - this is only an issue the first time you do a particular kind of search, and it's fast after that. This involves parsing all the source code, which is a recursive proces
