>burn time plugging things into (-b +- sqrt (b2-4ac)) / 2a I swear to god, I had so much of that to do, I got tired of it and learned enough python in one night, at 15, to get the computer to do my homework for me.

Honestly I've never seen a teared polymer bill yet, whereas the paper did tear up after being folded over and over. You do have to be careful to keep them away from heat though (driers, space heaters etc), they shrivel up.

From my experience in the field, convergence studies are something everyone knows they should do, but never actually happen because results are always needed yesterday. As for automating it, sure for a model like that with tens or hundreds

Each new version of SW introduces new "features" (some genuinely useful, some shiny marketing gimmicks) and a host of new bugs. Software churn at it's best. Gotta release a new version to make money, just fixing bugs isn'

I tried the (or one) android app and it was fairly good, though I'm back with keepass ATM as it ultimately has the best cross-platform support (windows).

Anecdotal evidence, but I found my MASc [1] to be a very hard sell for most employers. That is even if it was very applied, the goal at the end of my project was pretty much to have a good enough prototype to get funding for a startup [2].

I think his point is that 19 year olds are much poorer negotiators, and that gets taken advantage of.

Bearings also tend to start running quite hot when they are at the end of their lives. Bearings on trains often have smoke bombs on them that go off at a specific temperature.

What is it with parents driving their kids to school these days? Or is it a US thing? Back when I was in school, every single kid would ride the school bus. Well, except those close enough to walk/cycle, or those old enough to own and

This winter's been pretty warm with little snowfall, I think we only had one real cold snap dropping below -20C, and only one major snowstorm in early january. But I like winter in the city. I live walking distance from a large park wh

Throwing a wild guess (not even in the industry), but I'd be pretty surprised if it were above 100k. Or even 90. To put this in perspective though, you can rent a reasonable 2BR for 800-1000, even not that far from the city center. GF

Really love lyx. Used plain latex for a while, but for me LyX really hits the sweetspot between writing latex in vim and word-like WYSIWYG. Lyx and Zotero+LyZ made for a quite fine thesis workflow. LyX files are plain text and thus easily m
