Indeed. re Alexander von Humboldt: Andrea Wulf’s, The Invention of Nature[0], is an excellent overview of his work and impact. It's quite shocking how little he is known; somewhat similar to James Clerk Maxwell. [0] https://

I'd add Oman as a terrific Islamic country to visit. Men and women work alongside each other. Women walk and congregate after dark without male chaperones. It's all quite sane and immaculately kept. Jordan is relaxed too. Lots to

Take a look at Libratone [0]. I love my Zipps. Bonus is the inbuilt battery; so you can take it anywhere. Appears as an audio output on all Apple devices, so can be used for anything. Also works standalone with internet radio stations. Nice

But "clocks" can only be in "sync" – i.e. record the same time between each "tick" – when they are in the same inertial frame – from special relativity. In addition, there is gravitational time dilation. Thus,

Being in the UK, I can hop down the road and see what the Roman's were up to; as you say, astounding, and over such a wide geography. Then again, 4,500 years ago in Egypt they built some majestic structures.
