I suspect this is too little data. But 10+ deals suggests you have enough inbound interest to test it. Try AB testing it I would say.

They might be and thanks for warning about that one company - but if this is anything like renting 3090s (ignoring the period of time during crypto rises), the prices really can go low to a loss level, I guess sunk cost crisis for the owner

Haha. Cries in sadness that my university lab was unable to buy compute from 2020+ when all the interesting research in AI was jumping up and now AI is going into winter finally compute will be cheap again.

I understand what you mean and we seem to agree which is great. I also find economic arguments like you make here generally convincing, arguing against this (that risk increases costs which must be priced in) would be similar to arguing aga

Svelte-fire* allows you to basically sync state between frontend use (with optional chaining operators) and your firebase/firestore backend. You can basically call stuff as a variable and it gets it from the database and likewise upda

His point is not about compensating for loss. It's the fact that options laid out on the table with unknowns can be preferable to people than no options, or fewer options. The same dichotomy exists for crime vs agreements: - You'l

I am missing context here and would love to know more. Say I know about ATP Synthase and how the proteins/molecules involved there interact to make a sort of motor. How does AlphaFold help us understand that or more complicated systems

Yeah it is very bloated. I am suspicious that the article was bloated with AI rather than a human, though. I wonder if they either made the first section as a summary or extended sections necessarily. For example, early on it says: " c

Out of interest, during your try-hard phase, did you use VPNs? The try-hard meta seemed to be the opposite of midwit meme e.g. Newbie: Use the VPN it prevents tracking and password leaks on wifi! Mid level: Don't use the VPN as the VPN

Neat work! Can the author provide any ideas around: 1) Differences from fire-svelte for core functionality? 2) For the beyond core aspects, like Group-WebRTC (great innovation btw), how will things like TURN/PEER servers work to manage

So you're right to be excited, I agree. And I don't know, Meta, like OpenAI, seems to release conditionally, though yes, more. I doubt it before the election. When the Will Smith one was released, it was kind of a parody though. T

I read this and applied it when it was first on HN. Must have explained it to 3-4 junior engineers/interns, but could never quite find a link back to it. Thank you!

Disco Diffusion was a (bad) thing in 2021 that lead to the spaghetti video / weird Burger Kind Ads level quality. But it ran on consumer GPUs / in Jupyter notebook. 2 years ago we had decent video generation for clips 7 months ago

A good way to work with this is to use different agents Aider is pretty biased towards Python, for example (it's sample prompts largely use and test on Python)

Really interesting as a model of behaviour; and self-empowering. One thing I wonder, can I ask you? it's quite - prudish - but what do you do about innate motivation and needs? E.g. when I am not in a relationship, I'm either: - r

Income tax is an effective strawman. The only reason it's the predominant form of government tax income for the government is because of how taxes worked. Pre 1900, almost all tax came from trade, labour licenses and wealth/death

I understand that. However review my last month or so of post history for my views on earned/employment income, unearned income and asset income. In essence I differentiate between revenue within income, but not income/investment.

Yeah it's abduction/induction over deduction. Part of the reason why we misunderstand other processes in the brain and have since the Lobotomy times enshrined that approach.

Can you help me understand why we would use sample unit engineering/bootstrapping? Imagine if we don't care about between subjects variance (and thus P-values in T-tests/AB tests), in that case, it doesn't help us right.
