I think the plan sounds great and would happily contribute to the effort, especially for the EtherCalc part. :-) Have you considered EtherPad Lite? It might be a more appealing choice than EtherPad, considering the common Node.js codebase.

I'd like to echo that sentiment. From personal experience, I agree with the aane.org post that hackers may perceive the Cognitive Behavior Therapy framework as an authoritarian intervention on their value system. As the author puts it: “ I

Unfortunately, the problem of finding a minimally equivalent regex from an /alt1|alt2|alt3|.../ form is known to be PSPACE-complete ( http://www.computer.org/portal/web/csdl/doi/10.1109/SWAT.197... ), as well as not finitely axiomatizable

Yes. The list is generated lazily and ordered from shortest to longest, though, so piping the output to "|head -n 100" will terminate rather quickly. The ([String] -> IO [String]) API also generated a lazy list: http://hackage.has

Nice suggestion and thanks for the compliment! The inspiration for this work is the Regexp::Genex module from CPAN: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Regexp-Genex/ -- though it uses a random-walk approach for character classes, instead of enume

Interestingly, I parsed thurston's response not as an appeal to authority, but as self-mocking humor (i.e. "wow, if Perl 6 does that too, maybe my PhD was unwarranted!"). I guess English parsing is non-deterministic too... :-)

Although similar in expressive power, Colm offers instruction logging to auto-reverse global state changes upon backtracking, something Perl 6 grammars does not (yet) support; at the moment we need to manually manage them with embedded bloc

I think the overall design is sound, and the bus number of Rakudo is higher than Pugs.hs, so it's good. :-) In addition, I try to remind myself of the Confucian Analects: If one does not hold the post, one refrains from contemplating in the

Probably 80%+, in the early ages. Troll alchemy - I mean troll hugging - is a subtle art, and it took us many years to get the main development channels into reasonable civility. For example, http://irclog.perlgeek.de/perl6/today has been

Hi. Thanks for the link! I'm sure you noticed, the original title was "How to implement Perl 6 in '10", where '10 was meant to refer to the year 2010... Though I guess "10 minutes" is a valid, if unexpected, interpretation of "'10". Enjoy!

That is a fair question. Usually though, like in the case with asdgasd, when they became a genuine person, they also became far less needy; the neediness is largely just anxiety at not being understood. As for my own motives, I guess restor

Ah, but one does not need deciding between the two; when you hug someone, you are also fulfilling your own desire to be held. :-) IMHO, one needs not feel shame at saying one wants to be noticed, understood or remembered; that is what makes
