That's been my experience too. Even though Gemini also does seem to do the fancy one-shot demo code well, in day to day coding, Claude seems to do a much better job of just understanding how programming actually works, what to do, what

For day to day coding, I've found Anthropic to be killing it with Sonnet 3.7 and now Sonnet 4, and Claude Code feeling like it has even bigger advantages over when it's used in Cursor (And I can't explain why). I don't e

I totally agree with you about the motivations... and I can't speak to how many long term jobs will come out of this. But if this even gives us some chance to jolt our manufacturing sector back, will we start to gain some momentum? Eve

Even if it's text, I guarantee you there are way too many angry and stressed phone calls going around. The amount of actual work might be X, but the amount of emails, calls, status checks, etc is probably 50X.

My heart goes out to the poor dev that's having to fix this ASAP while multiple stressed out managers keep calling and asking for an update, before it becomes a completely unnecessary news cycle.

I bet a well trained model with an MCP with that fills out your tax forms based on you uploading raw documentation would probably do perfectly fine with 80% of Americans, not just 1040 filers, but even a handful of extra cases.

I always remember the scene in Jurassic Park when they try to feed a goat to the T-Rex, he doesn't show up, and then Jeff Goldblum says "T-Rex doesn’t want to be fed. He wants to hunt." This seems partially to be like that, m

And boy, with the $250m offers to people, Meta is definitely throwing ungodly piles of cash at the problem. But Apple is waking up too. So is Google. It's absolutely insane, the amount of money being thrown around.

Honestly it feels like desktop software should make a comeback. You pay once, get a set of features and that’s it. It won’t randomly change on you one day. Open source doesn’t solve anything for most people. It adds work if they have to fig

One thing AI won’t be able to do is take the blame for big decisions. I’ve realized that companies like McKinsey also provide a scapegoat for a manager’s decision gone wrong. They can just blame McKinsey for advising them to do it. But the

Can you point me to a good source that actually gives equal opportunity to multiple sides of a story? Because I rarely see that (regardless of which side), the whole reason why I subscribe to things like ground.news.

As others have said, the big guys (WGBH in Boston, WETA in DC, etc) will have minimal impact since they have a large pool of donors. But the little guys will suffer more. Ultimately, I think we can all agree that we hope the impact won'
