The most surprising fact was that Android is 80% of iOS revenue - that's a LOT better than I would have expected and had previously thought about the android market.

Getting a little tired of "former entrepreneur" professors like Steve and Vivek playing the wet blanket in tech. It's too easy to be negative, especially with the first dot-com bubble so fresh in our minds. It's a lot harder, and more rig

Amazing. This would be so useful in the morning - read stuff on your computer, take it on your phone on the bus/subway to continue reading, and then throw it up on your screen at work. They should call it "torch" or something like that -

There's probably a lesson in here somewhere about letting development on any software drag on for so long. At a certain point you have to just kill it and move on with your life. I hope we at least get a case study out of it.

Bezos explicitly said it in this letter - he expects all of this stuff to make the company gobs of money in the future. For a lot of the stuff Google spends money on, I don't think investors are necessarily very confident that it will have

The only person I'd call eccentric in this group is Steve Jobs. The others seem pretty normal. The tech industry could probably benefit from a few more truly crazy thinkers, people like Steve and maybe Ted Turner.
