You need to learn about ocicl: https://github.com/ocicl/ocicl It does all of this and more.

I'm looking forward to the remaining posts. The first thing I did this AM was teach SBCL how to optimize `(+ base (* index scale))` and `(+ base (ash index n))` patterns into single LEA instructions based on the day 2 learnings.

openldk itself builds from source. It reads jar/class files and JIT-transpiles them to common lisp code, which is in turn compiled to native instructions. It does not read java source code at all. But you can run OpenJDK's javac

Related: I recently got javac working with OpenLDK, my JVM bytecode to Common Lisp transpiler. The `javacl` binary is a dumped sbcl image that behaves just like OpenJDK javac program, but with CL under the hood (eg. java objects/metho

I've been having a great time generating Common Lisp code with LLMs. eg. https://github.com/atgreen/cl-tuition , https://github.com/atgreen/ctfg , etc.

I recently added a linter to my Common Lisp package manager, ocicl. It seemed like a natural place to put it.

Hey.. I wrote this. Honestly, I was jealous of the golang TUI libraries and cranked this out in an epic LLM-assisted hacking session.

I wrote this tool as an experiment to help label the ~200 open issues in libffi. It worked exceptionally well, and I wanted to share.

No. It's a simple transpiler for now.

Yes, I'm familiar with that! It was created by the OTI team in Canada, which was acquired by IBM. I think some of them are still around, working on IBM's OpenJ9 java implementation. They reach out to me now and then on libffi-rela

If you are writing services for a platform like kubernetes, the inner-loop development cycle is unmatched. You just connect your editor to the lisp image running in k8s, and with a couple of keystrokes, your code changes are shipped to the

I'm sure they would, but I have the freedom to not be practical! The journey is the destination. Common Lisp is fun to code in, and the tooling is top-tier.

I'll definitely use it when it becomes usable. And, yes, it needs to support newer versions of Java. Crawl.. walk.. run. But you are right.. part of my motivation was just to see if it was possible. Many years ago, I worked on gcj,

Many years ago I worked with Toshiba on the Media Embedded Processor (MeP), referenced in this article. We (Red Hat) did some toolchain work to support the configurable nature of the processor, which was novel at the time. The MeP didn&#x

The oras binary dependency could be replaced with lisp code. Doing this was a very low priority when I was getting started, mainly since oras works very well and is much better tested than anything I could put together myself. In truth, i

This was a little post-Christmas project that scratched a personal itch. It monitors console logs from your application and triggers various actions based on what it sees. I'm already using this with both a systemd-managed service an
