When it comes down to it for rails deployment your going to maximize the number of workers you have based on the amount of available memory. I'd like to see a test where they set the number of workers equal to the amount that fit within 512

You can get a good look at the linode control panel at http://www.linode.com/features.cfm

Linode will charge you at the beginning of your billing cycle and if you ever resize, which you can do automatically through the control panel, you will receive a credit for how much you didn't use.

I believe linode has a 7-day money-back trial period for testing as well.

It would have probably been better if these tests were run on different host machines. An easy way to have accomplished this would have been using the migration feature to switch data centers, etc.

Linode also has a 10% discount for 1/yr prepay or 15% discount for 2/yr prepay.

Are there implementations of this in any other languages? A quick google search for 'libcloud ruby' didn't turn up anything definitive.

It'd be nice to see an app like this take advantage of libcloud ( http://libcloud.org/ ) to support multiple providers.

This looks like a basic rails scaffold using nifty-generators. Also there is no validation on any of the forms.

Is there any benefit in using unicorn over passenger?

"You should not allow Unicorn to serve clients outside of your local network." -Quoted from the Unicorn philosophy page at http://unicorn.bogomips.org/PHILOSOPHY.html
