I was one of those clueless engineering undergrads back in ancient times...I know the mentality of thinking since you know BASIC and can code up a brutally ugly solution in MATLAB that you know programming, as long as the right number is sp

I'm a gen X human that wishes I had bucked that script. It's socially isolating and an outdated economically given the dynamism of employment these days. Shout out to gen y on for calling bullshit on that schema.

Even if you aren't that authentic, if you fit a persona well enough, a cult ensues. Witness Samuel L. Jackson as badass, etc.

Thanks...just goes to show how brilliant some of our pre-digital forbears were. I still give more props to old school television engineers to present day ones. The laws of physics are far more unforgiving than the laws of a compiler.

Not enough developer uptake for Haskell early on; quite frankly because it requires a thoughtshift that many developers find too difficult to do.

Along those lines, I think formal debate should be required in secondary education, and students should be required to defend the position they disagree with.

If you continue to use descriptions like thug you expose your own biases. And you did not address the thrust of my argument: how can a dead citizen make his or her case against an officers testimony of their feelings?

Imminent and reasonable reduce to feeling rather easily. As an exercise, could you cite cases where reasonable and imminent were found to not be justified in case law?
