The fast-ness of the CPU is not the only problem. The rest of the hardware of the phone is designed to be a phone, not a Mac. The battery will discharge faster than it charges, the flash storage will wear out, etc etc.

Sending multiple windows over screensharing actually seems easier than sending the desktop to me - because you only look at one window at once, the rest don't have to update at full frame rate, or at all. And it's easier and more

Get an ad blocker and then get all the people writing Java/Electron apps to fix their memory usage and you'll be good. Exceptions apply to those running local LLMs.

If you find a hardware bug that late, you're not fixing it and you're looking for chicken bits to flip. It is /extremely/ expensive to validate changes and remake the masks.

IIRC many of the built-in tools were updated from FreeBSD in the last release, but they'd still be different from GNU.

Yes, game developers can't revisit old games because they throw out the dev environments when they're done, or their middleware can't get updated, etc. But it's not possible to keep maintaining 32-bit forever. That'

It was very easy to lose data in Snow Leopard because they hadn't introduced the document autosave system yet. That was the next version.

Why would you want to support web APIs? They're all just Google proposing 5000 new ways for advertisers to fingerprint you but doing it through "standards".

> If said fixing is even possible, like when Apple removed support for 32-bit binaries altogether, rendering 3/4 of macOS Steam libraries non-functional. IIRC developers literally got 15 years of warning about that one.

He can get millions, but he can't get his entire net worth. His net worth is quoted as if the marginal price of one Meta share is the price you'd get for selling every Meta share at once. Which of course doesn't make sense.

That makes no sense for a phone because you go outside with it in your pocket, leave it places, connect to a zillion kinds of networks with it, etc. It's not a PC in an airgapped room. It is very easy for the user of the device to be s

And they are not oligarchs because that's not what that word means. Also, "net worth" is not "money". Shares of a company aren't money.

This kind of marginal risk thinking has never made sense to me because of the declining marginal value of money. If you have $0 you can't accept any risk and can't make any decisions correctly. But if you have like $4 million you
