Japan is definitely not savvy when it comes to software engineering. I'd say they're not really that tech savvy either. A lot of their tech is very dated.

We're actually the largest tech company in South Korea, not a completely random vendor. We also own LINE messenger which is probably more known.

Yes there is nothing Google in it. And if you happen to use Naver services, you won't be automatically logged in like Chrome is doing.

Just to add my company's browser too, http://whale.naver.com/ Chromium-based, actively developed, and has Android+iOS browsers. You can use chrome extensions with it too.

New law in Korea means workers are limited to 40 hours a week now, with maximum 12 hours overtime at 150% pay. I work at Korea's biggest tech company and the law is strictly followed.

At my Korean company, all code is written in English and comments are in Korean/English. On osx, capslock is used to quickly switch between languages.

If you look at Naver Search in Korea, most of their search results focus on results from community discussion sites (called cafes), blogs, etc. instead of commercial websites.
