Github pages for static content (can even run a cron job every minute to uodate and then push) and webtask.io for lambdas, which have a nice free plan (1 req/seq) - this is mostly for personal stuff, haven't tried yet their paid p

I would think it depends on the site... maybe some special html characteristics around the first headline? I usually use lynx, which strips down the html and only outputs the text. News site tend to have the same structure for every article

Mostly using linux tools. First of all, always respect the site's terms of use and the server's capacity. It is tempting to just do parallel -P 200 but it can hurt the website and can lead to you being throttled/baned. cURL.

Have you tried talking to her? Explaining the situation from your perspective, and just trying to let her know that you want to clear the air with her? I think opening up to her about your worries and feelings can help you both move forward
