I guess you are right, it is worth avoiding. I am just so used to that behavior that it is what I expect a page to do, but I guess another way to refresh the page doesn't justify confusing the user.

As you can see from the image in the link, I was not using the full width of my screen as I was having an eye on some things running in the background while surfing. The window width was 923 pixels, height 770. My screen is actually 1280x80

One quick comment: Your layout doesn't really work on a smaller screen -- here's a screen shot from my laptop with 1280x768 resolution as I was browsing and having some stuff open (visible) behind the browser window: http://screencast.com/

Are you really bothered by this? For example reddit and news.yc does the same, I don't see it as a problem. Odd? Yes. Standard? Yes.

Is it just me, or was the article seriously light on actual content? And just linking to a few random negative noteas about Facebook?

I like the look and feel of your pages a lot. Not too "strictly nerdish simple web 2.0ish", but simple and look good. The content you have there seems to work very nicely. Nice usable details, like when you move you mouse over the thumbnail

And you want the site to respect you privacy, i.e. you don't want to give the evil site any private information -- for example about what you are interested in. Or?

I have long thought that humans have no effect on global warming, and that the climate change we are seeing would have happened regardless of what we do. For me, this doesn't change much -- I still try to do things the "greenest" way practi

Not related to the story: Is it just me or the the width of this page annoyingly big? Seems that the pre-tag on the comment by maurycy kills text wrapping for those lines and thus makes all the text really wide = not easy to read. Screensho

I have had a long history with LEGO as well. And from LEGO I went on to C64, and programming in BASIC. Thus I really enjoyed my summertime assistant job building this at our University: http://web.abo.fi/fak/tkf/rt/robot/

Whoa, you work a lot! I would never manage that. Currently working maybe 30-40 hours a week on our start-up (or maybe spin-off would be a more appropriate term), and I feel I could not really be that productive for much more hours per week.
