yes! this is the same reason I’m glad Stadia died. “cool demo” does not equal “practical business”, and local compute will always be superior to cloud compute.

Definitely possible to not worry about make or autoconf, you just have to either - not need any dependencies - or use almost any more modern systems language like Rust, Zig, or Go

Yet this has been settled in Makefiles for a long time: use tabs. OP only seeks to sit on a high horse about how tabs are bad and to divide an ecosystem which is already pretty consistent. I’m so tired of people insisting tabs are evil and

I’ll also vouch for it. Plus, at least half a dozen highly funded people have tried to recreate TypeScript and have failed. Microsoft is flawed, but they can make a mean type checker.

I wish there was fourth option for “brackets but optional”. I like the brackets syntax, it’d be nice to omit them if you only have rules starting with &, similar to the “directive but optional” syntax.

They’re only skeptics about electrification when you’re talking about battery electric. If you start talking about the horse they’ve spent the last decade backing (HFC) they’ll change their tune. Toyota is just bitter they backed the wrong
