This inspired simonw's (among other things, the creator of the `llm` CLI tool) TIL, so I'd wager we'll be seeing him in this thread soon. Until then, here the link: https://til.simonwillison.net/

I think they meant "using the terminal (1980s)... but like 2020s-style (intellisense)" Y'know, because it's not like tons of people use the terminal on a daily basis in the modern era. /s

Mt guess is that someone was going through the prayer book and thought to check if the earthquakes were documented, and if they could add any more details if the earthquakes were.

And also some others. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the unintrusivw brightness bar, which had been available for jailbroken phones long before Apple added it in iOS 10.

My guess is that it refers to the really "hype" voice that a lot of YouTubers use. Like Mr. Beast, and most Minecraft YouTubers (but usually not ones on Hermitcraft) (source: I've had to listen to my little brother watching M

Just a small clarification: The maximum 5A of the original power adapter can't be met, but without a disc drive a Wii pulls about 15-20 watts, then add in a screen and that's maybe another 5 watts, well within the 3A (45W) a power

Has anyone in the portable Wii space looked at powering one with a USB PD power bank? It would be really nice to just hook up a USB power bank, maybe something like this, which could power a disc drive-less Wii for a few hours, rather than

I have serious doubts there are good technical reasons for this. For a few things maybe. But things as basic as Google Search itself have a worse interface on Firefox for no reason. There's an addon that "restores", so to spe

Not to mention grep that sometimes just doesn't work and returns you an entirely different result, or grep that just has blatantly wrong documentation ("any format")

Ah, sorry about that. I'm pretty uninformed on the China-HK-Taiwan geopoli. I assumed by communist they were referring to the USSR flag. And as for the timing, I agree that such a quick fix is unlikely. I conflated the posts time with

I can certainly understand the concerns, and I host my own Invidious instance for such reasons (and because many public instances have some features disabled, like video downloads), but I'd argue that 99.99% of the time I'd trust

I totally understand that, but with nonfiction and self-help books like this, you don't really need as much repetition in my opinion. Repetition of the same point tends not to help as much here as it does in fiction. For example, I rea
