People barely refill their windshield washer fluid. Asking them to refill a tank with distilled water is a bit of a stretch. Not that I have anything about water injection (I use it).

@OP Why not dump the data into postgres rather than code the schema and transactions? I had a similar issue and postgres was a godsend.

Its really hard to describe. I felt a sense of calm take over me. As if time stopped and life was perfect for a moment. No worries, no problems. Just me and the universe. I do not practice any religion but this was a religious moment. Like

I felt something similar while using a VR headset with space simulator. It really changed me.

Mind sharing a table structure from your db? I'm using ES for a project and would prefer to keep things simple (already use postgres in another part of the system).

Doesn't work as well as it should for some reason. I've began to reverse engineer the software to try and port it to something newer. We could also buy newer ECUs but then we lose years of tuning.

This seems like an odd case of defective parts leading to an early failure. I had a GE washing machine fail due to a defective pump (located under the drum and driven by the motor). There was no evidence of abnormal NHV and it is placed on

I've always had the imoression that a sysadmin ( a position I deeply respect) was more comprehensive than DevOps. DevOps mostly focuses on automating the infrastructure of software development. A sysadmin does that and more.

This is great feedback. I will make sure to contact YC and simply ask them. I'm not really interested in VC but the network seems very valuable.

Thank you for the reply. Is there something in YC that is not for pure startups? Something to support R&D with a commercial goal but that do mor necessarily follow the common business path.

I tune Porsches that require windows xp machines with an Rs232 port. I just buy a couple from ebay and keep stock of old parts (mostly old IBM t-series).

Say I have a technology that's related to autonomous vehicles. It requires hardware and software. How would joining YC increase the odds of the technology being adopted by auto manufacturers? Its not a consumer product and its a techno

The organizational structure has been designed to allow non-corporate groups to have equal leadership side-by-side with large tech companies. Anybody know more details? As non-corporate entity the opportunity is very interesting due to th

You are right. Making small changes that can be isolated for debugging purposes is a good approach. What I mean is that we should always question "best" practices and how we apply them to our development process. These days there

I know this is addressed at sama, but as someone doing AI without a PhD: 1. Not at all. You need to develop a consistent work schedule that will consist of researching papers, applying the knowledge, and writing your own. There is a lot o

Absolutely! My daughter is currently learning with the Rpi and this could motivate her more. Scratch is a bit too easy and pygame is too hard (although working on that).

I've been working on some for the past years. You should think of the interactions a vehicle will have. There are: - vehicle to vehicle (V2V) - vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) - vehicle to cloud (V2C) Each of those niches has niches of

Not at all. IME, they tend to be more reliable and used in real world products. The Rpi (as much as I love it) is focused more at the hobby market. You can use the BB boards on professional settings as off the shelf hardware.
