I'm a Minecraft modder and while mods are really exciting, sometimes the vanilla stuff is where it's at. Awesome job.

I would not be surprised if this is literally replacement iPad screens with markup. iPad screens use a form of DisplayPort internally.

That still doesn't explain, for instance, cutting out translating web applications or PC/Mac software.

I believe euthanasing UUIDs is really immoral. You go on talking about how all UUIDs have a right to live, then mention how all identifiers which are "unnecessary" should be killed as soon as they are born. Gee, what a bunch of hy

What about functionality added by mods which are not directly made for Minecraft? Spout used that loophole (where Spout was a voxel mod API and SpoutCraft was a Minecraft implementation of it) to allow selling mods.

It seems to hook itself into the Back arrow and doesn't let me go back without right-clicking on Firefox. That's not nice.

There is no real mention of the OS X 10.10 pre-alpha on the page and they weren't posted with that intention. Also, the CUI icons everywhere. Though the odd icons make it look weird... I don't know anymore, really.

OS X 10.10 potential pre-alpha screen leaks have been sitting on BetaArchive unnoticed for 2 weeks now, and I highly doubt them being fake. http://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=31454

No. A good part of Wikipedia is that it works and renders properly on almost every device. Making such a HTML5/CSS3/JS-oriented redesign could heavily ruin that.

I know that feeling. I'm still struggling with it and it has kept me confined to very few things for ages.

In order to stay compatible with non-WebP-supporting browsers, moot would have to keep two versions of image files on the disk, causing a lot of pain and HDD waste. It could work for the smaller boards, though...

I found the complete collection of Netscape releases in English and German all the way to the last 4.x versions, some Chinese service packs that were lost, old versions of the JDK, the JDK 1.0 beta 2, tons of 2001-ish Apple freeware/bu

It's sad the ZZT community is almost completely dead. Not sure if the sad part is "dead" or "almost". An end of an era.

I spent a boring weekend looking for interesting stuff on old FTP servers. There are a few sweet Chinese ones that were not touched since 2001.

The problem is that 12-year-olds are not willing to donate, and that is the major audience for most mod makers, unlike Linux distros. Only a few get to make for the smaller crowds, and they are usually mocked throughout. Not to mention, com

Actually, most of the changes revolve around "let's make it easier for modders to make mods" and "let's work on areas that we neglected". Private messaging systems are used a LOT on servers.

Okay, you're kidding, right? Minecraft 1.7 did not include any major changes. They just rewrote about 50% of the source code. Nah, not a lot. And they're doing it EXACTLY so they can make a mod store. Now, the only reason you cann
