At first glance, the chocolate bar in the title image seems out of place. Pseudo-edit: Upon further reading, it looks like it is part of demonstrating the dexterity of the robotic limb. P.S. Obligatory Macross Plus reference.

I ran across this when writing extension methods for HttpClient (.NET). HttpWebRequest did not like content-body being set for GET requests and threw this exception: System.Net.ProtocolViolationException: Cannot send a content-body with thi

These days, I only go to IRC when I have a specific purpose in mind. Some online groups [still] use it almost as a support channel. It [the way I use it now] is not like my days in uni when it was a popular form of "casual chat."

For me, the tactile feedback is what allows me to not bottom out when typing. I feel like a can allow myself to type more lightly on browns than reds.

How do web browsers handle cancelled requests? Subjectively speaking, it feels like browsers can take a while to recover from cancelling the loading of a large page/page with a large number of assets. Could this be part of that?

It's a valid style. Although, it was already falling out of vogue by the time I was out of primary school. This was also around the time that many were changing over to a single space after periods and colons.

Same on my work LCD. Dell E207WFP. I also tried test patterns at http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ and http://www.testufo.com/ . None of those made caused my screen to make an audible sound.

Agreed on the opaque comment. It took me a moment to realize that was the common factor for all the ones with worse readability. The California design is particularly egregious. I personally would prefer to see a move back to raised letters

Viewing some overly crufty sites can benefit from having JS completely off rather than "simply" using an ad-blocker. I'd wager that some tinfoilhats still run with JS off, or at least NoScript almost everything.
