I speak from experience that this is a bad idea. There are cases where documents contains text with letters that look the same in many font. For example, 0 and O looks identical in many fonts. So if you have a doc/xls/PDF/htm

You are the fifth person who told me that this can be done but have never used it. If this compile approach is so awesome why don't devs use it?

TypeScript is good as a language. You can't generate static binaries out of it (except Docker images) and that itself is a deal breaker.

I actively seek out tools written in static languages. They are less fragile and have a longer shelf life. https://ashishb.net/programming/maintaining-android-app/

I have `make install_deps` command for that. But it is closer to being nice aliases as opposed to fetching the tool chain.

I love Makefile. It is the easiest build system. In my projects, whether the language is Go, Rust, Python, typescript, or even Android, there are standard make commands, if applicable, always work - make format - make lint - make b

Toast can only be displayed when the app is the foreground. If there is not single definition of what foreground is then how is someone supposed to know whether a toast will be displayed or not?

Rendering to canvas eliminates may be 25% of the issues that I listed. How does rendering to canvas insulate you, for example, from the underlying permissions changes in the Android platform?

I am curious, would an app, say a music player written for iOS in 2015, be usable in 2025? For Android, I can say that it would have to be re-written ~30% or so. The entire permission model has evolved - iOS style runtime permissions

So, are the Flutter library maintainers so good that they are able to abstract out all the changes that are happening to Android system libraries, Google's helper libraries, and the restrictions on the underlying platform?
